Super “I have no idea what is going on” Cricket

As a British person, sometimes I feel an obligation to like certain things. For example, an American HAS to like fast food and the sport “hand egg” (which they call football). For us Brits its, its fish and chips, tea and cricket.

Cricket is something I have played and had no idea what the hell I was doing. All I remember is one day getting hit in the head with a cricket ball at school, which hurt. A lot. to me cricket is hit a ball, run back and forth or stand in the middle of a field for hours on end doing nothing. Also, the bat is a funny shape. why?

Super international cricket makes things a bit easier. I can sit in my pants, still not understanding what I’m doing, but at least I’m comfortable and not getting hit in the head. The game seems to consist of a quite detailed version of cricket. There are lots of ways to bat, and lots of ways to bowl. I have no idea what anything does except if I hold the R button and press anything, it seems to shoot the ball across the map.

I actually received this game from a close friend of mine, fully boxed and with the instructions. I’m glad I got the instructions. It taught me so much (i wish they still made instruction booklets, I used to read them on the bus home whenever I went and bought a game.)

Super international cricket has a super deep plot with a gripping sub storyline with love and despair. The story of men. Running. Catching. Throwing. The tragic tale of a man appearing in the aether wagging his arm and saying “no ball.” maybe they will explain in the sequel what the man means. It’s so cryptic.

I needed to speak to Chloe’s sister to find out what everything means. She was quite helpful I guess. I still didn’t understand, but I nodded and said “yes” and “ok” to make it seem like I did.

Either way, after I turned the difficulty down a bit I was able to get some points. The first game I ended up with a score of 2-102. I think this was bad? I enjoyed screaming at my TV screen whenever I scored though, so I guess I was doing something right.

Super International Cricket wins the award for the best cricket game ever. People should buy a SNES for this marvellous title. so much better than this new Don Bradman Guff.
